by its supply chain management program, Continuous Customer Value Improvement
(CCVI). DDC evaluates major suppliers quarterly in the areas of quality,

through enhanced communication and coordination throughout the supply chain.
Motorola's Automotive & Industrial Electronics Group (AIEG) holds the
distinction of being named Detroit Diesel "1998 CCVI Supplier of the Year".
The AIEG's Seguin, Texas, manufacturing facility supplies DDC with electronic
control modules for its heavy-duty electronically controlled engines. An
award presentation is scheduled in Seguin on Monday, March 15, 1999, where
Chip McClure, DDC President, and other key executives will meet with the AIEG
workforce in recognition of their outstanding performance.
Receiving "Honorable Mention" were Fritz Winter Eisengiesserei GmbH & Co.
KG of Stadtallendorf, Germany, the Belmond, Iowa facility of Eaton
Corporation, General Fasteners Company of Livonia, Michigan, The Ferry Cap &
Set Screw Company of Cleveland, Ohio, and Krupp Hoesch Automotive GmbH of

coverage for approximately 70% of Detroit Diesel's product material purchases.
In the spirit of continuous improvement, CCVI is being modified in 1999 to
refine the scoring metrics and will be expanded to increase program coverage
