South Florida-Area Toyota Sales Climb In February
    MIAMI, March 11 -- Toyota's 14 South Florida-area dealers
today reported a 10-percent gain in February retail car sales and a four-
percent advance in February retail truck sales over the year-ago month.
In the five-state region served by Southeast Toyota Distributors, Inc.,
February retail sales were the best ever in the company's 30-year history. The
former February record, set last year, was surpassed by 14 percent.
    Southeast-area sales leaders include the California-built, two-wheel-drive
Tacoma pickup, up 34 percent; the North American-built Corolla, up 30 percent;
and two Kentucky-built vehicles: Sienna, up 29 percent and Camry, up seven
percent.
"Toyota's competitive product lineup, combined with a strong U.S. economy,
have brought our dealers' vehicle sales to the highest levels ever for
February," said Southeast Toyota General Manager John Williams. "This new
record proves that Southeast Toyota dealers are answering the needs of today's
value-conscious consumers, who are seeking not only high quality and resale
values, but also outstanding customer service."
Ranked first among Toyota's American distributors in sales and customer
satisfaction, Southeast Toyota is the independent distributor of Toyotas in
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Owned and
operated by JM Family Enterprises, Inc., Southeast Toyota is based in
Deerfield Beach, Florida.
