Barry Glick Named as Director, Personal Navigation
    CHICAGO, March 9 -- Navigation Technologies Corporation, the
premier developer of map databases used by in-vehicle systems and consumer
Internet services, today announced the appointment of Barry J. Glick as
Director, Personal Navigation.  He will be reporting to Navigation
Technologies' Vice President of Consumer Marketing, Andrew Donchak.
    "The hiring of Barry Glick to this key position represents a major
commitment by Navigation Technologies to the rapidly emerging consumer markets
for map and routing-related information delivered to people on their PC's,
handheld computers, cellular phones, or other devices," said Donchak.  "The
explosive growth of the Internet, cellular and other wireless communications,
smart phones and other information delivery platforms, represents a major
growth opportunity for Navigation Technologies to leverage its international
leadership in navigable map databases.  With Dr. Glick's leadership in this
area, we will be better able to provide leading companies in these emerging
markets with the map database products they need to succeed in offering map
and routing-enabled services and products across the various communications
channels and form factors."
    As Director, Personal Navigation, Barry Glick will oversee marketing and
business development strategy for all consumer applications of NAVTECH data
outside of vehicles, including PDA's cellular phones, the Internet, GPS
devices and the desktop.  He will be responsible for defining market
opportunities for Navigation Technologies and plotting the most strategic way
to address them.  Navigation Technologies' goal is to partner with the firms
leading the way in developing and providing information services to consumers.
One of Dr. Glick's key tasks is to facilitate these relationships that will
lead to greater use of the NAVTECH database across all of the potential
devices and delivery systems.
    Glick joins Navigation Technologies from MapQuest.com, Inc.  (formerly
GeoSystems Global Corporation) where he most recently held the position of
President and Chief Executive Officer.  During his nine years with the
company, Glick oversaw the development of the most popular mapping and travel
site on the Internet as well as the achievement of major growth across each of
the company's line of business, including business services, software
applications, and publishing.
