NYIAS Names Sheraton Hotel & Towers its Headquarters Hotel for the 1999 Show; Press Days are March 30 & 31, April 1; Opening Day is April 3
    WHITESTONE, N.Y., March 8 -- The New York International
Automobile Show (NYIAS) has announced that the Sheraton New York Hotel &
Towers will serve as the headquarters hotel for the 1999 Show.
    David Sargent, director of sales for Sheraton Hotels, said, "Everyone at
the Hotel is looking forward to welcoming the media, exhibitors, and industry
executives to this important New York automotive event."
    All media and manufacturer representatives who contact the Sheraton by
March 5th will qualify for the reduced rates.  They are as follows:

    Single or Double:  $165

    Club Level
    Single or Double:  $215

    Tower Level
    Single or Double:  $245

    One and two bedroom suites are also available from $475 and up.

    Nearly 1,000 cars and trucks will be on display at the 1999 NYIAS, filling
more than 800,000 square feet of exhibit space.  In addition, over a dozen
world, national, and regional vehicle debuts are expected at the '99 Show.
Attendance at the 1998 New York International Automobile Show surpassed the
one million mark, completing a decade of a million plus visitors.  In
addition, more than 4,000 media and industry professionals attended the Show.
Expectations are for increased press and public attendance in 1999.
