Increased February Sales Reported by Toyota's Cincinnati Region
CINCINNATI, March 5 -- Toyota's Cincinnati Region continues
its sales momentum with February car sales of 6,049, an 11 percent increase
over last February when sales totaled 5,665. Combined car and truck sales
totaled 7,248, a 7 percent increase over 6,754 vehicles sold last February.
"The sales momentum for the Cincinnati Region has carried over in 1999,"
said Mike Reding, general manager of the Cincinnati Region. "Our Camry and
Corolla models had sales increases of 11 percent and 13 percent,
respectively."
The Georgetown, Kentucky-built Sienna minivan showed a 12 percent increase
over February 1998. Posting its ninth best sales month in the Region's
history was the Toyota Land Cruiser, with a sales increase of 66 percent over
February 1998.
"Our dealers are confident their strong sales numbers will continue, due
to strong consumer confidence and stable interest rates," Reding added. "With
the record turn-out at the Cincinnati Auto Show, they are expecting increased
traffic at their dealerships in the upcoming Spring months."
The Toyota Cincinnati Region includes 118 dealers in Ohio, Kentucky,
Tennessee and the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.
