Delco Remy America Announces Tania Wingfield as New Manufacturing ExecutiveANDERSON, Ind., March 5 -- Delco Remy America, Inc., President Richard L. Stanley announced the promotion of Tania Wingfield to corporate director of manufacturing operations - alternators. Wingfield was most recently director of materials operations for the Anderson-area plant facilities. In her new position, she will have primary responsibility for all manufacturing operations for heavy-duty alternators. In this capacity, she will report to John Gladney, vice president, Operations. "Tania is a great complement to our executive staff as we continue to focus on our growth and profitability initiatives," explained Stanley. "Her skill and expertise will add an invaluable resource to our heavy-duty operations team." Wingfield joined DRA in July 1995, as business planner for heavy-duty systems. In June 1996, she was promoted to materials manager for Alliance Park, one of the first Heavy-Duty Systems focused factories. Then in July 1997, she was named manufacturing plant manager for Patriot Park. Wingfield earned a bachelor of science degree in computer science and management information systems from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with honors in 1988. While in school, she completed an internship with E.I. Dupont in Wilmington, Delaware, as a programmer/analyst. Following graduation, Wingfield joined the Stolle Corporation as a programmer/analyst in the ALCOA management information systems area. A short time later, she was promoted to systems analyst for the corporate services arena and two years later she became senior systems analyst. In 1991, she joined Maxon Corporation in Muncie, Indiana, in the position of user support coordinator and programmer. Later, she was named manufacturing system coordinator. Her achievements include Women of Achievement nominee, graduate of Muncie's Academy of Community Leadership, and former diving coach for Muncie Central High School. In addition, she was named 1994 Indiana State Diving Coach of the Year by the IHSAA (Indiana High School Athletic Association). Delco Remy International, Inc., became a public company with an initial public offering of stock in December 1997. The company designs, manufactures, remanufactures and distributes electrical, powertrain/drivetrain and related components for automobiles and light trucks, medium and heavy-duty trucks and other heavy-duty off-road vehicles. Products include starter motors, alternators, engines, transmissions, traction control systems and fuel systems for both the original equipment and the aftermarket.
