Interactive Dealer to Consumer Automobile Auction to Be Developed

8 March 1999

David A. Enterprises, Ltd. to Develop Interactive Dealer to Consumer Retail Automobile Auction
CLEVELAND, March 5 -- David A. Enterprises, Ltd., a privately
held marketing services company, announced today that it will develop and
implement an Internet based auction service which will enable licensed car
dealerships to sell new and used vehicles to consumers.
Until now, retail dealerships have relied on "buying services" and passive
inventory listing, which give consumers the ability to view and submit a
purchase request on-line. This has sparked interest, but has failed to
deliver the level of satisfaction to both dealerships and consumers. The
retail auction service will dramatically reduce the cost of doing business on
the Internet for most dealerships. In addition, for the first time ever, a
car buyer and dealership will agree on a price for a vehicle before any direct
contact has been made. This will increase the response of Internet buyers and
reduce the legwork of dealership personnel.
David A. Enterprises, Ltd. has made a substantial investment into the
development of a technology that will give retail dealerships the power to
control the sales process, while giving consumers the ability to set their own
price for a new and used vehicle. David Hein, President and CEO reports, "The
key motivation in this development project is to provide dealerships with a
tool to sell inventory on-line, while increasing Customer Satisfaction." The
system will be designed to give dealerships the ability to sell their
inventory at real market value, rather than haggling over every penny as is
often the case with buying services.
While a rollout date has not been disclosed, David A. Enterprises, Ltd.
expects a short development time, as the project has been gaining momentum for
the past 11 months.
