Best-Ever February Sales Reported by Toyota's Kansas City Region
KANSAS CITY, March 4 -- Toyota's Kansas City Region continues
its sales momentum with its best-ever February car sales of 1,849, a
23 percent increase over February 1998 when sales totaled 1,500. Combined
truck and passenger car sales had a 17 percent increase over last February,
with sales of 2,056 vehicles, versus 1,753 in 1998.
"The increased sales momentum for the Kansas City Region has carried over
into 1999," said Bruce Ertmann, general manager of the Kansas City Region.
"Our Corolla and Camry models had sales increases of 40 percent and
22 percent, respectively."
The Georgetown, Kentucky-built Sienna minivan showed a 24 percent increase
over February 1998. Once again, sport utility vehicles contributed to the
Region's sales gains, with the flagship Land Cruiser posting an eight-fold
increase over the prior February.
"Our dealers are confident their strong sales numbers will continue, due
to strong consumer confidence and stable interest rates, and look for
increased traffic at their dealerships in the upcoming Spring months," Ertmann
said.
The Toyota Kansas City Region includes 74 dealers in Iowa, Kansas,
South and North Dakota, Missouri and Nebraska.
