DaimlerChrysler Names McAlear Vice President - Chrysler Brands - Financial

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 4 -- DaimlerChrysler Corporation
has announced the appointment of Thomas McAlear as Vice President,
DaimlerChrysler and Vice President - Chrysler Brands - Financial, of Chrysler
Financial Company (CFC) L.L.C.
    In this position, McAlear is responsible for providing automotive sales
financing and leasing support to DaimlerChrysler dealerships (Chrysler,
Plymouth, Dodge and Jeep(R) brands) and customers in the U.S., Canada and
Mexico.
    McAlear joined Chrysler Corporation in 1975 as a trainee in the Kansas
City Zone and has held a variety of executive positions in the Automotive
Sales Group as well as CFC including: Director - Marketing Operations, Dealer
Marketing Manager and Zone Manager - Sales and Service.
    His previous position was Vice President and General Manager, responsible
for CFC's  Eastern region.
    McAlear, aged 48, is a native of Springfield, Mo.  He holds a Bachelor's
and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Drury College.
