Audi Sales up 28 Percent - Best February and Best Year to Date Since 1986

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 2 -- Audi of America, Inc.
announced its February sales in the U.S. with 3,576 automobiles sold, a
28 percent increase over the same month last year when sales were 2,794.
These results mark Audi's best February and best start of the year since 1986
with 1999 year-to-date sales of 7,011.
    The locomotive behind Audi's sales in February was the A6 sedan with
quattro.  Of these luxury touring sedans, 1,263 were sold for a 152 percent
increase over last year.  This was augmented by 391 sales of Audi's A6 Avant
luxury touring wagon.  Overall, Audi's A6 model range experienced a
117 percent increase over last February.
    Audi has displayed this kind of year-over-previous-year sales increase for
over four years (49 of the last 51 months).
