Ford Names Two New Vice PresidentsDEARBORN, March 1 -- Ford Motor Company today announced the appointment of two new vice presidents. Shamel T. Rushwin has been appointed vice president of advanced manufacturing engineering, and Chris P. Theodore has been appointed vice president -- large and luxury car vehicle center. Both join Ford, effective March 1, from DaimlerChrysler Corporation, where Rushwin was vice president -- international manufacturing and minivan assembly operations; and Theodore was senior vice president -- platform engineering. "The experience and expertise that Shamel and Chris bring to Ford will add exceptional depth to an already strong team," said Jacques Nasser, Ford president and chief executive officer. "They will help in leading the company toward our vision of becoming the world's leading consumer company that provides automotive products and services." Rushwin held a variety of leadership positions at DaimlerChrysler including general manager for minivan platform assembly and plant manager at the Belvidere Assembly Plant. Rushwin earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Youngstown University in Ohio. He succeeds Roman Krygier, who was appointed vice president -- Powertrain Operations, and took over those duties Jan. 1 of this year. Theodore also was in key management positions at DaimlerChrysler including vice president -- platform engineering, and general manager -- platform engineering. Theodore earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan in 1972; a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan, Dearborn in 1975; and an MBA from Michigan State University in 1989. He succeeds Kenneth Kohrs who has elected to retire June 1 after more than 37 years with Ford.
