Lear's TransG Storage Systems Offer Space, Access, and Flexibility

Lear's TransG(TM) Storage Systems Offer Optimized Space, Improved Access And Lots of Flexibility
DETROIT, March 1 -- Leave it to Lear Corporation
to find creative ways to convert wasted space to storage space -- and easy
access to it -- as part of its recently unveiled TransG(TM) interior concept
aimed at maturing baby boomers.
No more bending, twisting, tunneling, reaching, stretching to reach
packages and storage items with the TransG interior storage space.
Lear Corporation engineers, sensitive to limiting flexibility of aging
baby boomers have turned wasted space into easy access accommodations for bags
and bundles. All the vehicle storage space in the world won't do any good if
it can't be accessed. With the TransG storage, every inch of storage is
easily accessed, without the standard body strain.
Two lockable, waist-high, outside compartments are located behind the
lights in the rear quarter panels. They can be opened easily and are large
enough for purse and flashlight or items that might be needed outside the car.
The traditional glovebox opening is gone, replaced by a top-access, easy
open compartment that prevents items from sliding onto the floor.
Seat-side storage is compartmentalized, roomy and yet shallow enough to
find the smallest item. It is supplemented by the TransG's flexible center
and rear console storage compartments.
The TransG's rear liftgate area offers the most innovative functionality.
The farthest reaches of the interior can be used for storage of even the
heaviest loads. A slick slide-out load floor allows for easy loading and
unloading of items at the back of the compartment. Underneath this shelf is
an additional lazy susan storage system -- a turntable compartment area that
brings less frequently used items to the consumer's fingertips with just a
touch.
Next to the shelf is a removable utility car with collapsible
undercarriage that is easily loaded and unloaded. When the cart is pulled
out, its wheeled legs extend to move heavy loads or multiple items in one
trip. The cart, fully loaded, can be returned to the liftgate area.
So much more storage in the TransG, and so much easier to access.
Lear Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, is one of the world's largest
