Ryninger Promoted to Corporate Controller at Intermet
    TROY, Mich., March 1 -- Intermet Corporation
announced today that Ronald C. Ryninger Jr. has been promoted to corporate
controller effective March 11.  He succeeds Walt Knollenberg.
    Ryninger most recently was Manager, Cost and Budgets.  He joined the
company in 1996 from BE Aerospace, where he was a plant controller.
Previously he was a plant controller and senior financial analyst with
Rockwell International and before that had held positions of increasing
responsibilities at Deloitte & Touche.
    Ryninger holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration
from Appalachian State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
    With headquarters in Troy, Michigan, Intermet Corporation and its
subsidiaries design and manufacture precision iron and aluminum cast
components for automotive and industrial equipment manufacturers worldwide.
