Dura Automotive Systems, Inc., Announces Dividend on Trust Preferred Securities
    MINNEAPOLIS, March 1 -- Dura Automotive Systems, Inc.
announced today that a quarterly dividend of $0.47 per share
will be paid on the 7 1/2 percent convertible trust preferred securities
issued by the Dura Automotive Capital Trust.  The dividend will be payable on
March 31, 1999, to stockholders of record on March 15, 1999.  The dividend
will be paid on 2,210,000 shares outstanding.  The convertible trust preferred
securities are traded on the Nasdaq National Market under the symbol DRRAP.
    Dura Automotive Systems, Inc., is a leading designer and manufacturer
of driver control systems, engineered mechanisms and cable-related systems for
the global automotive industry.  The company's products include parking brake
systems, automotive cables, transmission shifter systems, latches, underbody
tire carriers, jacks, brake, clutch and accelerator pedals and other
mechanical assemblies.  The company's products are sold to major North
American original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including Ford, General
