Integrated Systems, Inc. Releases Significant New Upgrade to MATRIXx Product Family
Version 6.1 Further Accelerates Embedded Control Systems Development in the
Aerospace and Automotive Industries; Offers Enhanced Usability, Faster and
More Accurate Simulation, Code and Document Generation

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 1 -- Integrated Systems, Inc. (ISI)
, a leading worldwide provider of embedded systems software for
a broad range of industries, today released the newest version of its MATRIXx
product family, version 6.1. New functionality in this version offers
benefits to users of all aspects of the product line -- modeling, simulation,
production code generation, document generation and rapid prototyping -- and
has been developed in close co-operation with ISI's strategic partners in the
Aerospace and Automotive industries. With these new enhancements, MATRIXx
offers design engineers greater flexibility and efficiency, while further
accelerating a product's time-to-market.
"MATRIXx 6.1 includes productivity enhancing capabilities defined by our
strategic customers in the Aerospace and Automotive industries," said Chuck
Boesenberg, chief executive officer of Integrated Systems, Inc. "As a result,
ISI is able to offer design engineers complete embedded software solutions
from the development of production-ready code to implementation with an
operating system. The new capabilities of MATRIXx enable us to offer an
industry leading graphical software development tool at the industry's best
price/performance ratio."

MATRIXx 6.1 to Offer Enhancements in Functionality, Usability and
Performance
The goals for MATRIXx 6.1 have been to introduce productivity enhancing
capabilities for control systems designers by focusing on three major areas --
new modeling constructs, ease of use, and improved code and document
generation. Specific enhancements in the product include:
New Modeling constructs: MATRIXx/SystemBuild now offers a palette of
matrix computation blocks -- an important enhancement for iterative algorithms
such as Kalman Filters typically found in most guidance, navigation and
control applications. Further, a new palette of implicit equation blocks
allows users to efficiently model systems with implicit dynamics. These new
capabilities will further broaden the usage of MATRIXx in the aerospace and
automotive industries.
Ease of Use: MATRIXx 6.1 features a number of usability enhancements --
these include multiple editor windows, copy and paste support with Windows
programs, support for bitmap icons, and many other usability and diagram
readability enhancements. These enhancements will increase its acceptance as
a graphical software specification tool.
Improved code and document generation: With MATRIXx 6.1, Integrated
Systems has added additional compiler-like code optimization switches to
improve the footprint and efficiency of the automatically generated code --
thereby enhancing the applicability of MATRIXx/AutoCode for production
software applications. MATRIXx 6.1 also includes code generation support for
OSEK/VDX 2.0 operating systems. Document generation has been enhanced to
allow a user-specified editor (such as Microsoft Word or HTML editors),
allowing users to specify comments in formatted form rather than ASCII form.
MATRIXx version 6.1 currently is available to customers on PC (Windows(R)
NT & Windows 95), Sun (SunOS and Solaris) and HP platforms. Other platform
support will follow soon after.

    The MATRIXx Product Family
