Motorola today announced a nationwide consumer promotion designed to generate brand awareness for the company's paging products and drive pager sales at retail. Called the My World, My Words, My Wheels Sweepstakes, the promotion is aimed at the growing population of 16- to 24-year old(a) consumers who place a premium on reliable communications tools and are choosing pagers to stay connected to family and friends.
Highlighting the value of word message paging, which enables pager users role receive complete text messages, the sweepstakes emphasizes the important role that personal communications plays in the daily lives of these younger consumers. It is being reinforced at point of sale with high-visibility graphic displays.

The My World, My Words, My Wheels Sweepstakes' attention-getting prize pool includes two grand prize Jeep(R) Wrangler Sport vehicles and other in-demand prizes, including the Gateway(TM) Destination(R) XTV-350 HE computer and entertainment systems, Motorola Wordline(TM) FLX word message pagers, Motorola TalkAbout(TM) two-way radios, Motorola StarTAC(R) cellular phones, Motorola pager accessory packs, Ray-Ban(R) sunglasses and Movie Cash(TM) certificates.
New pager customers who activate their service by March 31 are eligible to enter by calling 1-888-44-WINGS. Alternative entry forms, which can be utilized by both pager users and non-pager users, are available at participating retail stores.All sweepstakes winners will be notified by being paged or phoned, with the grand prize winners notified on April 9.
Radio Support
To create excitement for the promotion and build traffic for local retailers, Motorola is launching a radio campaign, which kicks off on March 1 and runs through the month in 13 selected major markets, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco Seattle and Washington, DC.
Three new 60-second spots, which can be tagged to include local service and price offers, have been created specifically for the promotion and will air on one station in each market with a contemporary format targeted to young adults. The radio ads specifically highlight the benefits of word message paging.
Hundreds of local prizes will be awarded in the selected markets during the month of March.
Carrier And Retailer Support
To encourage participation by its customers, Motorola has developed and distributed special information kits for carriers and retailers, outlining the program, available point of sale kits, materials and instructions to carry out the promotion. The promotion will be reinforced by dynamic graphics to communicate important information, including sweepstakes entry information, entry forms and complete rules. Motorola's Wordline FLX word message pager is featured on all of the promotion's themed collateral materials.
