Federal-Mogul Appoints James J. Zamoyski

Federal-Mogul Appoints James J. Zamoyski Senior Vice President And General Counsel
    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Feb. 24 -- Dick Snell, chairman and chief
executive officer of Federal-Mogul Corporation today announced the
appointment of James J. Zamoyski to senior vice president and general counsel,
effective immediately.
    Prior to this promotion, Zamoyski, 52, was vice president -- strategic
planning since June 1997.  He had served as vice president and general manager
of aftermarket operations based in Geneva, Switzerland.  Zamoyski was named
vice president and general manager worldwide aftermarket -- international in
1991.  Prior to that he was vice president and general manager of the
worldwide aftermarket distribution and logistics function.  Zamoyski was
elected vice president of corporate development and assistant treasurer in
1989 before moving into the operating side of the aftermarket operation.  He
was named director of corporate development in 1988 after having served as
assistant treasurer for eight years.  Zamoyski was elected an officer of the
company in 1980.  He joined the company in 1976 as a corporate tax specialist.
    "Jim has had a variety of operational and corporate experiences and his
in-depth knowledge of all our global operations will prove invaluable in
assisting with our forward progress," said Snell.
    Zamoyski received a law degree and a Master's of Law degree in taxation
law from Wayne State University in Detroit.  He holds an undergraduate degree
in accounting from the University of Detroit.  He is also a Certified Public
Accountant.
    Zamoyski replaces Edward W. Gray, Jr. who has left the company to pursue
other opportunities.
