PHILADELPHIA--Feb. 24, 1999--Pep Boys, the nation's leading automotive aftermarket retail and service chain is proud to announce that it has become the official auto parts store of the Carlisle Collector Event Series.
This series consists of eight automotive events which will run from April through October, 1999 at the Carlisle, Pennsylvania Fairgrounds.
These events consist of large swap meets where more than 8,100 exhibitors display and sell collector cars, automotive parts, literature, memorabilia and accessories. Many events also feature large car and truck shows as well as a full schedule of entertainment and activities, all centered around specific car makes or models.
Approximately 500,000 auto enthusiasts participate in these auto-related events each year. "These enthusiasts are quintessential do-it-yourselfers," stated Bill Furtkevic, director of marketing communications for Pep Boys.
"Not only does Pep Boys have the high-quality parts, tires, tools and accessories they need to work on their hobby cars, but the dealer-quality repair and maintenance services required by their everyday vehicles."
Pep Boys expects to promote its expanded line of automotive performance parts and accessories at the events. "The fact that the premium national auto parts store can offer our spectators all of the body styling accessories, lighting, sound and performance accessories is very exciting," said the President of Carlisle Productions, John Kutsch.
