AMETEK Declares Quarterly Dividend of Six Cents Per Share

    PAOLI, Pa., Feb. 24 -- The board of directors of AMETEK, Inc.
today declared a regular quarterly dividend of six cents per share
for the first quarter ending March 31, 1999.
    The first quarter dividend is payable March 31, 1999, to stockholders of
record March 17, 1999.
