SPX Corporation to Sell Dual-Lite Business
    MUSKEGON, Mich., Feb. 22 -- SPX Corporation today
announced that it has reached an agreement to sell its Dual-Lite business to
U.S. Industries for an undisclosed amount.  The agreement is
subject to normal closing adjustments and regulatory review.
    Dual-Lite, a unit of SPX's Edwards Systems Technologies division, is a
leading supplier of emergency lighting, exit signs, and central inverter
systems in the U.S.  Headquartered in Cheshire, Connecticut, Dual-Lite markets
product under such well-known brands as Dual-Lite, EZ-2, Spectron and
Liteforms.
    "The sale of Dual-Lite will allow us to focus on growing our core
business," said Jay Twombly, President of Edwards Systems Technologies.
"Dual-Lite is a good business with strong brands and it will be an excellent
complement to U.S. Industries' lighting business."
