CTS Corporation Names H. Tyler Buchanan Vice President and General Manager of CTS Automotive Products

    ELKHART, Ind.--Feb. 18, 1999--H. Tyler Buchanan, a 22 year veteran of CTS Corporation , has been named Vice President and General Manager of CTS Automotive Products according to an announcement today by William J. Kaska, Group Vice President, CTS Corporation. Prior to his promotion, he held the position of Director of Operations, CTS Automotive Products. Buchanan will have overall operational responsibility for CTS' automotive sensor and actuator manufacturing facilities in North America and Europe. CTS Automotive Products is a world leader in the design and manufacture of a variety of electronic position sensors and actuators used in automotive powertrain, suspension, fuel system and emission control systems. Headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, USA, CTS has automotive position sensor and actuator manufacturing facilities in Elkhart, Indiana; Streetsville, Ontario, Canada; and Blantyre, Scotland.
    Buchanan is a 1974 graduate of the University of North Carolina where he earned a B.S. degree in Industrial Relations. He began his business career as Personnel Specialist with White Consolidated Industries. In 1977, he joined CTS of Asheville, Inc., Asheville, North Carolina, where he held positions as Personnel Manager, Manufacturing Superintendent and Manufacturing Manager. In 1987, after a year and a half assignment as General Foreman and Special Projects Administrator at a sister CTS facility in Bentonville, Arkansas, Buchanan accepted the position of Tooling Manager with CTS' Electromechanical Group, Elkhart, Indiana. In 1992, he was promoted to Manager, Human Resources/Materials, and in 1994 was named Director, Human Resources/Materials until being named Director of Operations, CTS Automotive Products.
    Mr. Buchanan and his wife, Opal, reside in the Elkhart area.
