SDRC Receives Imageware Surfacer Software Order from Decoma Exterior Systems

    CINCINNATI--Feb. 16, 1999--SDRC , a leading provider of enterprise product development solutions worldwide, today announced that Decoma Exterior Systems, a business group of Magna International, Inc., purchased 24 licenses of Imageware Surfacer(TM) version 9.0 -- the premiere surface modeling software provided by SDRC.
    Decoma selected Surfacer(TM) based on its fully integrated suite of best-in-class capabilities for point processing, rapid surfacing, data healing, and Class 1 surface modeling.
    Decoma is an industry-leading tier-one automotive supplier that specializes in designing, engineering, and manufacturing a full range of exterior appearance products, including front and rear bumper systems, vertical body panels, greenhouse and sealing systems, polymeric glazing systems, exterior ornamentation, convertible roof systems, integrated lighting systems, and vehicle enhancement packages.
    "Surfacer's advanced user interface supports our existing work flow methodology. In addition, its broad range of capabilities -- from point processing to Class 1 surfacing, coupled with the I-DEAS Modeling Link -- support our need for a seamless art-to-part process in one integrated system," stated Patrick Nemeth, manager of product design, Decoma. "In the first phase of implementation, Surfacer will be used for point processing and rapid surfacing to support feasibility projects. In the near future, Decoma plans to expand its Surfacer applications to include Class 1 surface modeling."
