Intellichoice Names Nissan Vehicles 1999 'Best Overall Value'

GARDENA, Calif., Feb. 15 -- Four 1999 Nissan vehicles earned "The Best Overall Value of the Year" designations in the 13th annual IntelliChoice Best Overall Value of the Year Awards announced recently. Underscoring the significance of this honor is the fact that only one vehicle in each category is selected as "The Best Overall Value." The Nissan winners include: Nissan Frontier SE King Cab Best Truck Value Under $18,000 Nissan Frontier King Cab Best Compact Pickup 2WD Value Nissan Quest GXE Best Minivan Value Under $22,500 Nissan Quest SE Best Minivan Value Over $22,500 Four other Nissan vehicles garnered runner-up honors. These include: Altima SE 4 Door Sedan ("Compact Over $15,000"), Maxima GLE 4 Door Sedan ("Midsize Over $19,500"), Maxima SE 4 Door Sedan ("Midsize Over $19,500") and Quest GLE 4 Door Minivan ("Minivan Over $22,500"). IntelliChoice analysts evaluated more than 800 models from manufacturers' 1999 model lines. IntelliChoice compares purchase price with projected costs to own and operate a particular vehicle for a five-year period. These include projections for depreciation, insurance, maintenance, repair, fuel, state fees and financing. IntelliChoice determines the value estimates for 29 different car and truck categories.
