SDRC Receives $4.9M in Orders from Lockheed Martin Astronautics; SDRC Will Provide Engineering Software and Support Services That Will Enhance Product Development At LMA
CINCINNATI--Feb. 9, 1999--SDRC , a leading provider of enterprise product development solutions worldwide, today announced that Lockheed Martin Astronautics has placed additional orders for SDRC's award-winning I-DEAS Master Series(TM) software, its market-leading Metaphase(R) Enterprise(TM) software, and SDRC's consulting and implementation services. The combined value of the orders, processed in the first quarter of 1999, is over $4.9 million. This order represents the 3rd group within Lockheed Martin to standardize on Metaphase Enterprise. Not only is the Astronautics group using SDRC's I-DEAS(TM) and Metaphase software and services, the Missiles and Space and the Tactical Aircraft groups have also deployed SDRC's Metaphase Enterprise PDM solution.
LMA is using Metaphase to deploy its unique virtual production environment, called the Astronautics Collaborative Environment (ACE), with Metaphase providing the single source of product data. I-DEAS will serve as the core design tool for the Astronautics spacecraft product development needs.
Lockheed Martin Astronautics, with primary businesses in the areas of spacecraft and launch vehicles, chose to expand SDRC's role as a total solutions provider.
"SDRC's position in the aerospace industry is growing rapidly, especially within the spacecraft industry," said William Carrelli, vice president of marketing for SDRC. "Our ability to provide major manufacturers, such as Lockheed Martin Astronautics, with production-proven enterprise product development solutions is a key competitive advantage for our customers. We're excited that Metaphase and I-DEAS are central components in the Astronautics group's concurrent engineering initiatives, and we're pleased with this extended deployment."
