Loctite Announces Letter of Intent With Automotive Performance Group, Inc. to Sell Loctite's North American Automotive Aftermarket Business
    HARTFORD, Conn., Feb. 5 -- Loctite today announced that it
has signed a letter of intent with Automotive Performance Group, Inc. to sell
its Automotive Aftermarket business.  Automotive Performance Group, Inc. is a
full service owner and operator of high performance automotive business and
brands.
    David Freeman, president and chief executive officer of Loctite stated
that the letter of intent follows a previous announcement by Loctite, which
indicated they were seeking to dispose of its Automotive Aftermarket business
in North America.
    Automotive Performance Group, Inc. is a full service owner and operator of
high performance automotive businesses including Royal Purple Motor Oil, which
produces synthetic oil and chemical products favored by many racing teams and
manufacturers, and Klein Engines and Competition Components, Inc., a leading
manufacturer of high performance engines.
    Loctite Corporation, a division of Henkel Corporation, is a global
specialty chemical company.  Its engineered sealants, adhesives and lubricant
products serve the industrial, electronics, specialized medical, retail and
professional automotive maintenance and repair markets.  Loctite Corporation
