Borg-Warner Automotive Elects Two Officers:
     John Kalina named to new position as VP & Chief Information Officer;
                  Timothy Manganello elected Vice President

    CHICAGO, Feb. 5 -- The Board of Directors of Borg-Warner
Automotive, Inc. , has elected two corporate officers.  John "Jack"
A. Kalina has been appointed vice president and chief information officer of
the company and Timothy M. Manganello has been named a vice president.
    Kalina, 53, joins Borg-Warner Automotive in the new position of Vice
President and Chief Information Officer.  The position was created to help
facilitate the company's strategic focus on powertrain product leadership to
achieve its growth objectives.  Kalina was most recently an Executive IT
Consultant with IBM.  His background also includes chief information officer
positions with Walbro Corporation and Robert Bosch Corporation.
    He holds an MBA in Management and Finance from Case Western Reserve
University, an MS in Computer Science and Mathematics from Wright State
University and a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of
Dayton.  Kalina and his wife, Kathy, live in Naperville, Ill.
    Timothy Manganello, 49, was recently named president and general manager
of Borg-Warner Automotive's Powertrain Systems (PTS) operating group.
Manganello has been with Borg-Warner Automotive for 10 years and most recently
served as vice president, operations of BWA-PTS's Muncie, Ind., facility.
Manganello holds BS and MS degrees in mechanical engineering from the
University of Michigan.  He and his family will be relocating to the Detroit
area.

engineered components and systems primarily for automotive drivetrain
applications.  The company operates manufacturing facilities in 12 countries
serving North America, Europe and Asia.
