Edelbrock Receives New Products Awards At 1998 SEMA Show
TORRANCE, Calif.--Feb. 5, 1999--Edelbrock Corp. Friday announced that two new products, the RPM Air-Gap Manifold and the Qwik Data(tm) Acquisition System, received awards at the recently held 1998-99 SEMA Show (Specialty Equipment Marketers Association) in Las Vegas.
The RPM Air-Gap Manifold is designed for the small block Chevrolet and won the "Best New Performance Product" while the Qwik Data(tm) Acquisition System was awarded "Runner-up" to the "Best New Race Performance Product."
The RPM Air-Gap Manifold is Edelbrock's first and only dual-plane manifold with the race-proven air-gap design, Edelbrock's newest and most powerful dual-plane street/race manifold for the small block Chevrolet. The RPM Air-Gap (Item No. 7501) represents the ultimate in leading-edge technology in high-rise intake manifolds.
Utilizing the latest in computer design technology, the RPM Air-Gap is manufactured with an air-gap under the water crossover and the intake runners to eliminate a significant amount of heat from the air/fuel mixture entering the cylinder heads. This cooler, denser charge packs more energy to create more power.
The RPM Air-Gap manifold's 180-degree firing order design is engineered to make the top-end horsepower of a single-plane manifold with the low-end torque of a dual-plane. The wide power band, from 1500 to 6500+ rpm, is ideal for street/race performance.
Additionally, Edelbrock was proud to announce the introduction of the new QwikData(tm) Data Acquisition System. This state-of-the-art, competitively priced data acquisition system will capture vital engine and chassis information so a racer can optimize performance for a winning setup in circle track and drag racing.
The QwikData(tm) provides extremely fast data collection with a high degree of accuracy and large data storage capacity. The QwikData(tm) is designed specifically for a high-vibration racing environment and is housed in an anodized aluminum enclosure with laser cut endplates and gaskets for a splash-proof assembly.
A fully assembled wiring harness with true automotive connectors is provided with each system. The computer software provided is an IBM-based Windows(R) data analysis program and is simple to use.
Commenting on the above, Vic Edelbrock, chairman and chief executive officer stated, "We at Edelbrock are excited not only about offering two new award-winning 'State-of-the-Art' products to our marketplace, but the continued emphasis on providing quality Edelbrock-manufactured and designed products to our present core line. The RPM Air-Gap Manifold began shipping in late December and is already a proven winner in the manifold line."
Edelbrock is presently under development for big block Chevrolet and small block Ford Air-Gap applications. The QwikData System will be available in March 1999.
