U-Ship Names Ronald G. Olson, Grow Biz President and CEO, To Board


    MINNEAPOLIS--Feb. 4, 1999--U-Ship, Inc. , now doing business as United Shipping and Technology, announced today that Ronald G. Olson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Grow Biz International, Inc., has been named a member of its Board of Directors.
    Peter Lytle, Chairman and CEO of United Shipping and Technology, said that Olson's involvement will be valuable as the company implements its growth strategy. "Ron has successfully built his company through a series of acquisitions and forward-thinking franchise concepts, and we feel fortunate to have him on our Board of Directors," he said.
    Grow Biz International, headquartered in Minneapolis, develops, franchises and operates seven subsidiaries in value oriented concepts. The retail stores buy, sell, trade and consign used and new merchandise, and include Play It Again Sports(R), Once Upon a Child(R), Computer Renaissance(R), Music Go Round(R), It's About Games(TM), ReTool(TM) and Plato's Closet(R).
    United Shipping and Technology developed two subsidiaries in l998 to expand the core strengths of the company. The Intelligent Kiosk Company (IQK) develops intelligent kiosk technology for shipping, courier and other industries. Advanced Courier Services, Inc. (ACS), the company's courier subsidiary, is building a value-added concept for consolidation of the courier industry, which will include brand franchising. The concept is currently being developed in the Minneapolis metropolitan market with plans to move into two new major markets in 1999.
