Reynolds and Reynolds First to Implement AMDSG Standards; Company Brings Saab Cars USA into Compliance

DAYTON, Ohio--Feb. 4, 1999--The Reynolds and Reynolds Company has become the first automotive dealer systems provider to initiate and implement standards set by the Automobile Manufacturers Dealer Standards Group (AMDSG) in the marketplace. This implementation took place in partnership with Saab Cars USA.
A committee of auto companies, whose primary focus is the import industry, set the AMDSG standards. These standards enable individual auto retailers and manufacturers to exchange data in a consistent, accurate format. Auto companies represented on the AMDSG committee include BMW, Chrysler, Honda/Acura, Isuzu, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Saab, Suburu of America, Toyota and Volvo.
"The completion of this first AMDSG module by Reynolds with Saab is another example of our leadership position among dealer systems providers in the automotive industry," said Pete Granson, vice president of the franchise solutions group for Reynolds' Automotive Division. "AMDSG standards are emerging as an issue of compliance in the industry. We feel this is another example of our passion to perform for our customers, and of providing our customers with the value-added products and services they expect."
"Saab is very excited to be leading the industry with Reynolds and Reynolds," said Jerry Rode, director of management information systems of Saab Cars USA. "By being the first to meet the AMDSG standards, Reynolds has brought our organization in compliance and presented us the capability to accelerate our business and lead the pack by creating the first market applications within AMDSG guidelines."
