Visteon Continues Building Customer Service In Asia-Pacific Region With New DirectorDEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 3 -- Visteon Automotive Systems has appointed Rikuo Miyake managing director of its Asia-Pacific region. Miyake, former regional director of Visteon's marketing, sales and service efforts in this region, succeeds Bernard J. Thornton, who has been appointed to a new position within the organization. In his new role, Miyake will oversee all operations including marketing, sales and services, business strategies, and research and development in Japan and other Asia-Pacific countries. Miyake joined Visteon after a 30-year career with Matsushita Electric, one of Japan's most prominent electronics manufacturers. Miyake held a succession of sales and product development assignments at Matsushita, including positions as president of the company's sales network in Malaysia, general manager of Corporate Automotive Electronic Sales, and director of Matsushita's Kanagawa Industrial Sales Office, where he directed sales of electronic key devices and other electronic components. Visteon is committed to customer success in the Asia-Pacific region and continues to expand its presence there. Visteon has 15 production facilities in the Asia-Pacific region including joint ventures in Japan, China, India, Korea, and Thailand. A new powertrain facility in the Philippines is under construction. Visteon also has sales and customer service bases and research and development facilities in Yokohama, Hiroshima and Higashi Hiroshima. Visteon Asia-Pacific Aichi was established as a customer sales and service base for the Chubu and Tokai areas and Visteon Singapore has been established as a business base for the ASEAN region. Visteon has 82,000 employees and 120 manufacturing, engineering, sales and technical centers located in 21 countries. Visteon's corporate headquarters is located in Dearborn, Mich.
