BMW Records Best January Ever; BMW Group Sales Up 15.3 Percent
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Feb. 2 -- BMW of North America, Inc.
reported its best January on record with sales of 10,135 vehicles, compared to
9,038 sold a year ago, an increase of 12 percent.
Of particular interest this month were sales of BMW's 3 Series models, up
40 percent over a year ago, reflecting the strong demand for the new 3 Series
sedans.
Land Rover North America, Inc. reported a 37 percent jump in sales, with
January sales of 1,790 vehicles, compared to 1,037 a year ago.
BMW Group reported consolidated retail sales of 11,925 vehicles for
January 1999, an increase of 15.3 percent over Group sales of 10,345 recorded
a year ago. BMW of North America, Inc. and Land Rover North America, Inc. are
members of the BMW Group.
