Auto Retailing on the Web Conference - May 5 through 7, 1999

METUCHEN, N.J.--Feb. 2, 1999--As the number and quality of Internet-originated auto sales increases, the need for more up-to-date information multiplies. After a hugely successful conference last November in Nashville, WD&S Publishing announces that the Auto Retailing on the Web conference will reconvene in Las Vegas on May 5 through 7, with an entirely new program.
This market segment is growing and changing as we speak. John Holt, from The Cobalt Group, the top-rated speaker from the November conference, will return offering an assessment of the current state of Internet-based selling of cars and trucks. John is uniquely qualified in this area as The Cobalt Group is the developer of over 6,000 dealership Web sites, many auto manufacturer sites and is the parent company behind Internet referral service DealerNet. Participants will get a 20/20 look at what they should be doing right now, and what they should be planning to do in the near future to capture their fair share (and more) of Internet car shoppers.
Other speakers include Doris Ehlers of J.D. Power and Associates, Chuck Lewis of iTRiBE, Inc. and Toby Reilly of Loandata, Inc. Panel presentations will include a number of auto dealers with very successful Web site strategies. They will tell us the how and why of their success in selling over the Internet.
Additional subjects to be covered in the break-out sessions will include a panel of dealership Internet Sales Managers who will describe how they spend their day gathering and converting e-mail prospects into closed new or used car sales; a discussion of banner advertising and how new car dealers can use properly placed banner ads to drive qualified traffic to their sites; how to build and profit from an e-mail data base of customers and prospects and, for the "techies," search engine listing strategies and a complete analysis of Web site statistics.
To assist east coast participants with their travel arrangements, the conference is scheduled to start at 1 P.M. on Wednesday May 5 and will close at Noon on May 7, 1999.
