Delphi Automotive Systems to Open Wholly-Owned Facility in MoroccoTANGIERS, Morocco, Feb. 2 -- Delphi Automotive Systems Packard Electric Division will open a wholly-owned facility in February here for the production and assembly of wiring harnesses. "The plant will support local vehicle production as well as European OEMs," according to David Burgner, European managing director of Delphi Packard Systems. The facility is 25,000 square meters and located on approximately 70,000 square meters of property. Approximately 1,000 employees will be engaged at the plant in the first year of production. That number is expected to increase over the next three years as production schedules grow. This is the second Delphi operation in this country. Delphi Chassis Systems has a facility near Casablanca.
