SunTrust Lands Deal With Discount Auto Parts

    ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 1 -- SunTrust Bank Central Florida, N.A.,
has signed a contract to handle all merchant services banking for Discount
Auto Parts . The bank will process all credit card and debit card
transactions for the company's 530-plus stores.
    "We are thrilled to add merchant services to the financial services we
already provide Discount Auto Parts," said Sally Cardetti, first vice
president and manager of merchant services for SunTrust Bank Central Florida.
The bank will continue to provide other services, such as cash management and
deposit services. "Acquiring this account strengthens our total relationship
with Discount Auto Parts and provides name recognition to help expand our
portfolio holdings."
    Discount Auto Parts, Inc. is one of the Southeast's leading specialty
retailers of automotive replacement parts, maintenance items and accessories
for the do-it-yourself consumer. Today, the over $500 million company is
staffed by more than 5,000 team members. They provide more than 40,000 parts
that are available same day from more than 500 locations throughout Georgia,
Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, Louisiana and Florida.
    SunTrust Bank Central Florida, N.A. is the largest bank based in Central
