Subaru Southeast Region Reports January Sales

    AUSTELL, Ga., Feb. 1 -- Subaru Southeast Region announced its
January sales figures.  The Southeast Region posted a sales total of 1,253
units for the month, up 9.5 percent over the same period last year.
    Nationally, Subaru of America, Inc. today announced its January sales
figures.  The company recorded a sales total of 9,831 units for the month; its
best January retails sales month in 11 years.  Overall, January 1999 totals
are up nine percent over the same period in 1998.
    Subaru of America, Inc./Southeast Region, located in Austell, Ga.,
operates as a regional sales office and parts distribution center for Subaru
of America, Inc.  The regional sales office services 119 retail dealerships
throughout Alabama, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North
