Subaru Mid-America Region Reports January Sales; Best January Sales Month Ever

    ITASCA, Ill., Feb. 1 -- The Subaru Mid-America Region
announced its January sales figures. The Mid-America Region posted a sales
total of 1,376 units for the month, up over 50 percent over the same period
last year. This marks the best January sales month ever in the region.
    Nationally, Subaru of America, Inc. announced its January sales figures.
The company recorded a sales total of 9,831 units for the month; its best
January retails sales month in 11 years.  Overall, January 1999 totals are up
nine percent over the same period in 1998.
    Subaru of America, Inc./Mid-America Region, located in Itasca, Ill.,
