Subaru Western Region Reports January Sales

    PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 1 -- Subaru Western Region announced its
January sales figures.  The Western Region posted a sales total of 2,246 units
for the month, up 16 percent over the same period last year.
    Nationally, Subaru of America, Inc. today announced its January sales
figures.  The company recorded a sales total of 9,831 units for the month; its
best January retails sales month in 11 years.  Overall, January 1999 totals
are up nine percent over the same period in 1998.
    Subaru of America, Inc./Western Region, located in Portland, Ore.,
operates as a regional sales office and parts distribution center for Subaru
of America, Inc.  The regional sales office services 122 retail dealerships
throughout Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah
and Washington.
