Sequa Elects Steven R. Lowson Corporate Secretary

    NEW YORK--Jan. 29, 1999--The board of directors of Sequa Corporation has elected Steven R. Lowson, senior associate general counsel, to the additional post of corporate secretary.
    Lowson, 37, has been with Sequa since 1995, when he joined the company as assistant general counsel, litigation. He advanced to associate general counsel later the same year and was appointed to his present post in 1997. As corporate secretary, Lowson succeeds Ellen T. Harmon, who left the company at the end of 1998.
    A graduate of New York University (BA, 1983), Lowson received his JD in 1987 from Temple University School of Law. He began his legal career at the New York law firm, Sullivan and Cromwell, and was a litigation associate there before joining Sequa. Lowson is admitted to the New York State Bar and is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the American Corporate Counsel Association.
    Sequa Corporation is a diversified, technology-driven manufacturer whose operations cross a wide range of markets.
