SmarTire Nasdaq Symbol Changed to SMTR


    RICHMOND, British Columbia--Jan. 29, 1999-- SmarTire(VSE:SES.) SmarTire Systems Inc. announced that effective today, its ticker symbol on Nasdaq will change to SMTR.
    When the Company was first listed on the Nasdaq SmallCap board on December 17, 1998, the symbol was changed to SMTRF. However, at SmarTire's request Nasdaq has changed the symbol back to the original SMTR.
    SmarTire Systems Inc. develops and markets proprietary tire monitoring systems for the North American and European automotive aftermarkets.
