DaimlerChrysler Consolidates International Catalog ProductionAUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 28 -- DaimlerChrysler Corporation today announced that it will consolidate all of its international catalog production for its Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands with Ross Roy Communications, Inc. of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., effective March 1, 1999. Ross Roy previously handled only the U.S., Canadian and Mexican catalogs, while Bozell Worldwide, Inc. of Southfield, Mich. produced all international catalogs. Bozell will complete the production of catalogs already in progress for the Grand Cherokee and Neon and is still the agency of record for corporate, brand and dealer advertising in the U.S., and for Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge products around the world. "This change was made for one reason and one reason only," said Ken Laurence, Director of International Marketing Operations. "We wanted to synergistically align our international processes with our corporate core processes. "As a result of the merger between Daimler-Benz and Chrysler, DaimlerChrysler continues to review all business practices to establish processes that will streamline efficiencies and reduce redundancies," said Laurence. "This decision should in no way reflect negatively on the work done by any of our marketing partners." To best serve the field offices, Ross Roy has established a network of offices around the world through BBDO and Omnicom, its parent company. Ross Roy will utilize a template-based design software with the ability to modify contents to meet regional/local market needs, yet assure consistent global brand positioning and worldwide quality. By combining catalog production under one agency, DaimlerChrysler will achieve significant production efficiencies.
