William F. Christopher Named Alcoa Vice President
PITTSBURGH--Jan. 26, 1999--Alcoa announced that William F. Christopher, 44, has been elected a vice president of the company. He is also President of Alcoa Forged Products, one of Alcoa's business units, located in Cleveland, Ohio. Alcoa Forged Products produces aluminum forgings and castings for the aerospace, transportation and commercial markets.Mr. Christopher joined Alcoa in 1975 as an internal auditor in Pittsburgh following graduation from Penn State University with a degree in accounting. He held a series of accounting management positions at Alcoa plants in Massena (N.Y.), Davenport (Iowa) and Tennessee until he was named sheet mill manager at Davenport in 1988. Three years later he became vice president, Commercial Products Sales and Marketing also located in Davenport. He was named president of the Alcoa Forged Products business unit in 1996.
Mr. Christopher also has an M.B.A. degree which he obtained in 1980 from Clarkson University in Massena, New York. He and his wife, Cathy, and three children reside in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the son of Mrs. Jean and the late Dominic Christopher of Brookhaven, Pennsylvania.
