Insilco Acquires Precision Metal Parts Business
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 25 -- Insilco Holding Co.
(OTC BULLETIN BOARD: INSL) today announced that it has acquired Eyelets For
Industry, Inc. ("EFI"), a Connecticut-based manufacturer of precision formed,
stamped and drawn metal parts which serves a variety of markets, including
electrical/electronic and automotive markets. While Company officials did not
disclose financial terms of the transaction, they said that the transaction
was financed under the Company's existing bank credit facility. EFI had 1998
revenues of $36.5 million.
Robert L. Smialek, Insilco Chairman and CEO, said "The EFI business
represents an excellent strategic fit with Stewart Stamping, our precision
stamping business unit. EFI and Stewart Stamping both focus on markets in
which a high degree of tool design application is required. Like Stewart
Stamping, EFI has recently opened a facility in El Paso to serve the growing
electronic and automotive component assembly market in the Southwest. We see
numerous opportunities in combining operations to improve efficiencies and
cross-sell products lines. In addition, we look forward to capitalizing on
EFI's expertise in deep drawn parts to expand Stewart Stamping's capabilities
and customer penetration."
Insilco Holding Co., based in suburban Columbus, Ohio, is a diversified
manufacturer of industrial components and a supplier of specialty
publications. The Company's industrial business units serve the automotive,
electronics, telecommunications and other industrial markets, and its
publishing business serves the school yearbook market. The Company had 1997
revenues in excess of $500 million.
