Vastera, a leading provider of international trade logistics solutions, Monday announced the company's EMS-2000(R) solution interface has been certified by SAP AG , the industry's top vendor of enterprise business-applications and the fourth-largest independent software supplier in the world.
The certification, through the SAP Complementary Software Program (CSP) provides assurances of a seamless interface between the Vastera EMS-2000(R) international trade logistics solution and SAP(tm) R/3(R).
"Interface certification of the Vastera EMS-2000(R) solution, is not just about satisfying high technical standards," said Arjun Rishi, president and CEO of Vastera. "As a BAPI certified member in the CSP, we are building a better, stronger, relationship with SAP, to provide ready-to-use interfaces that help reduce implementation time and costs, as well as safeguard our customers' software investments."
The significance of the interface certification to SAP and Vastera customers is summarized by Al Wander, ERP business analyst, Eastman Kodak Company . "The Vastera solution is a key component to the international trade logistics aspects of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) project Kodak has undertaken with SAP.
"Knowing that solutions are successful in other client environments is important -- the SAP interface certification brings an additional level of confidence. Certification reduces the variables and risks inherent in a mission critical project."
James Reuland, export and returns manager, Global Provisioning & Logistics Systems for Lucent Technologies , a user of both solutions, adds, "The Vastera EMS-2000(R) software handles international trade processes for Lucent.
"It is beneficial for companies like Lucent, who keep current with new releases of vendor systems, to see approved interfaces that minimize concerns about the potential for future compatibility issues impacting implementation and support efforts."
"With dozens of successful joint clients since becoming a member of the SAP Complementary Software Program, we have proven that a combined SAP R/3 and Vastera solution is a key operational and decision support solution for companies doing business globally and operating within an international supply chain," said Rishi.
The Complementary Software Program (CSP) has been established to promote seamless integration of third-party software with SAP R/3 solutions through standard, high quality and proven interfaces.
