TRW to Implement Enterprise Resource Planning Software for Cade Industries
LIVONIA, Mich.--Jan. 21, 1999--TRW Integrated Supply Chain Solutions, a global supply chain systems integrator, today announced that it will implement the Baan Company's enterprise resource planning (ERP) software in four subsidiary locations of Cade Industries, a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer.
The first site is in the mapping and piloting stages and all four sites, located in Lansing, Mich.; San Diego, Calif.; Grand Prairie, Texas; and Minneapolis, Minn., are expected to go live in late 1999. The TRW and Baan team was chosen for its proven success in more than 40 fully integrated ERP application executions.
Richard Joseph, Cade vice president and Baan project manager believed that TRW offered the best resources and implementation strategy for a successful project. At the completion of TRW's implementation, Cade Industries will have a fully integrated ERP system that will facilitate automated data tracking from order to delivery.
"We have mapped business processes, identified areas of improvement, and begun piloting to transform business processes into the Baan environment," said Joseph. "We have an excellent working relationship with the TRW implementation team and are very satisfied with what has been accomplished since the contract was awarded in July."
As the existing legacy information technology system no longer met Cade's goal to sustain continued corporate growth, the selected application needed to support an engineer-to-order environment as well as precise aerospace and defense industry standards.
"Among the many benefits of implementing the Baan system, we anticipate improvements in customer service, cash management, time-to-market, capacity planning and reduced inventory," said Richard Lund, Cade's president.
Cade Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ NMS: CADE), designs, develops, manufactures, overhauls and repairs high technology composite components for the aerospace and air transport industries, and is a global leader in the design and manufacture of jet engine test facilities and related ground testing equipment.
