Precision Lube Express Announces Sales & Car Count Increases; Growth Attributed to New Marketing & Operational EnhancementsLEESBURG, Va., Jan. 20 -- While the lube industry continues to experience flat or even declining sales, Precision Auto Care's brand new modular, quick lube system, Precision Lube Express, is pleased to announce that average same store sales are up 21%, while also boasting a 19% increase in car counts for the last quarter of calendar 1998. According to John Wiegand, VP of Operations for Precision Auto Care, Inc., these increases are a direct result of the marketing and operational tools that have been provided to the franchisees. These tools focus on improving the customer's service experience by establishing standards to assure quick, quality service and to demonstrate a commitment to excellence. Precision Lube Express offers an ultra-convenient, quick-lube service where customers remain in their cars while the 10 minute service is performed. "Marketing tools, such as the new 'To Go Menus', allow customers to choose from a variety of services and manager's specials from the menu," explained Pete Tahinos, VP of Marketing for Precision Auto Care, Inc. In the spirit of providing a positive service experience based on convenience, Precision Lube Express centers also provide customers with reading material, soft drinks and coloring books for kids while they wait, said Tahinos. Precision Lube Express is described by Wiegand as "a modular, free- standing service center that provides oil and filter replacement and chassis lubrication services." A center can be operational in a matter of weeks, requiring no excavation or extensive site preparation. Available as one, two or three bay units, the low overhead, self-contained operation can be relocated or expanded quickly and in a relatively small space. The interest in Precision Lube Express continues to spread across all market segments, according to Kevin Rooney, VP of Franchise Development. "The Precision name and our unique concept has allowed for exciting multiple business opportunities with convenient stores, car washes, service stations, strip malls, etc. At the same time, the new business owner loves our simple 'turn-key' capabilities," said Rooney. "With the strong business growth we are experiencing and many unique applications, the future is now!" Precision Auto Care, Inc. acquired Lube Ventures, a manufacturer of modular quick lube buildings and the franchisor of Lube Depot centers, in November, 1997.
