Action Performance Signs Exclusive Licensing Agreement With Kerry Earnhardt
PHOENIX--Jan. 19, 1999--Action Performance Companies Inc. (Nasdaq NMS/ACTN) Tuesday announced that it has signed a two-year exclusive agreement with Kerry Earnhardt, the oldest son of seven-time NASCAR Winston Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt.
The contract demonstrates Action's confidence in forecasting the future success of Kerry Earnhardt as an up-and-coming champion. Under the representation of Don Hawk, president of Dale Earnhardt Inc. (DEI), Kerry has committed to drive the No. 40 Channellock Chevrolet for Doug Taylor Motorsports, competing in the NASCAR Busch Series for the 1999 and 2000 seasons.
Under the terms of the contract, the licensing and endorsement agreement will extend through the year 2000, providing Action exclusive rights to license and distribute all categories of licensed merchandise including die-cast collectible cars, toys, games, action figures, apparel items and other products.
