Federal-Mogul Appoints Leigh Briggs, General Manager, Assembled CamshaftsSOUTHFIELD, Mich., Jan. 18 -- Frank Tomes, executive vice president, General Products, Federal-Mogul Corporation , announces the appointment of Leigh Briggs to the position of general manager, assembled camshafts, effective immediately. Briggs will report to Bob Roberts, vice president, camshafts. Briggs will have responsibility for the general management of the North America - assembled camshafts operation based in Grand Haven, Michigan. "Briggs brings with him tremendous expertise in the engineering and manufacturing disciplines," said Tomes. "His experience in factory and general management as an automotive supplier will be a major benefit to the team. I am delighted that he is joining the camshafts group." Prior to this appointment, Briggs held the position of executive director, AE Goetze (Pty) Ltd., South Africa, preceded by the position of general manager/executive director of Glacier Vandervell (Pty) Ltd., South Africa. Prior to that, Briggs spent seven years with Everite Limited, rising from engineering manager to factory manager. Previously, he spent five years with Corobrik Tvl. Ltd., rising from area manager to engineering manager. Briggs earned a Bachelor of Science degree (1st class honours), in mechanical engineering from Lanchester Polytechnic in the United Kingdom.
