Active Tool Evaluating Strategic AlternativesROSEVILLE, Mich., Jan. 18 -- Active Tool & Manufacturing Co., Inc. announced today that it has engaged Credit Suisse First Boston and Roney & Co. to explore strategic alternatives to support Active Tool's continuing investment in the growth of the company. The range of alternatives include an alliance or merger with another company, the recapitalization of the company or the sale of the company, which may include the sale to a strategic buyer seeking to develop a stronger position in the North American market. Active Tool & Manufacturing Co., Inc. is a Tier One Automotive stamping supplier, serving a number of automotive companies, including DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Ford Motor Company and General Motors Corporation. Active Tool operates stamping plants in Clinton Township, Michigan; Sebewaing, Michigan; and Elkton, Michigan; offers full tool and die design and build services at its tool and die center in Detroit, Michigan; and designs, develops and sells adjustable pedal systems using proprietary technology.
