ATX Technologies Opens California Office

    SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 18 -- ATX Technologies(R), Inc., in
partnership with Nichimen America, Inc., has expanded its operations to sell
the On-Guard(R) family of products to automotive Original Equipment
Manufacturers (OEM's) and electronics manufacturers who need mayday and
navigation services.  The expansion includes a new California office located
in Costa Mesa, California and will be managed by Michael Szumilas, formerly
Vice President of Marketing and National Sales for ATX and recently named as
Executive Vice President and General Manager of ATX Distribution, LLC(SM).
    The new operation will provide sales, sales support and technical services
to these OEM's and electronics manufacturers.  These activities include
licensing the hardware and firmware for On-Guard Ready(SM), ATX's full turnkey
solution for electronics manufacturers who want a mayday product that can be
serviced by ATX's world-class On-Guard Response Center(SM) in San Antonio,
Texas.  In addition, the operation will offer a bilingual (English/Japanese)
services unit headed up by Toshiyuki Sakai, Manager, Sales and Marketing of
ATX Distribution, LLC(SM).
