Federal-Mogul Appoints David Whaley, Director, Operations, Sintered Products
    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Jan. 14 -- Frank Tomes, executive vice
president, General Products, Federal-Mogul Corporation , announces
the appointment of David Whaley to the position of director, operations,
Sintered Products, effective immediately.  Whaley will report directly to
Rocco Petrilli, managing director, Sintered Products, America.
    Whaley will have responsibility for the operations of the Dayton, Ohio and
Marshall, Illinois powder metal operations.  Prior to this appointment, Whaley
held the position of director of operations for SPX Contech Corporation,
preceded by the position of corporate vice president, quality and
productivity, Foamex International.  Whaley previously held the position of
vice president of operations and chief operating officer, Zenith Sintered
Products.  Whaley has spent 10 years rising from engineering and manufacturing
assignments to plant manager and vice president positions supplying the
automotive industry.
    Whaley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and
industrial management from the University of Tennessee.
